All tools have the same purpose behind them. To make us more efficient in the task at hand. So that we spend lesser time and energy to accomplish things.
From the wheel to the iPhone, every invention is basically aimed to make things easier to do.
People say, "Necessity is the mother of invention". But what is the motivation for necessity? Laziness.
Laziness is the real mother of invention!

I beg to differ... Inventions are to make things more convinient & working conditions more efficient thus saving time to do better things. We would have been in the stone age ... who will prefer that.I believe Passion for excellence is the motivation of necessity & hence the inventions.
The tools were invented to make things easier. For e.g. the spear to make an easier kill for hunting. The wheel to make it easier to transport things. If humans had infinite amount of energy and time, there would have been no necessity for these things. There is an inherent incentive to do things at efficiently.
Laziness is a very natural thing. It is how we deal with it that makes the difference. For e.g. Some people take that as an opportunity to build tools. Others laze away.
A passion for excellence contributes to building things more efficiently but it is not the root cause in my opinion.
So as per your declaration Software guys are creating laziness in the world..
You can say creating laziness in terms of creating idleness. And that is not a bad thing.
